Elk Valley & Area Hospice began as a passion of a group of local women around 2002. Over the years, as the pioneers were able to educate a team of volunteers and the community and spread positive information regarding the benefits of hospice care, the organization grew.

Since then, Elk Valley & Area Hospice has grown to a group of approximately 30 dedicated volunteers who provide end-of-life and bereavement companionship, community education on death, dying and grieving, and help out through community outreach via the Elk Valley Hospital kiosk and community events.
